Pricing for Plumbing & Drain Services

Our prices can vary depending on the type of service, travel time, length of the service call, etc. Below, you will find a description of our rates to give you a better idea of how we price our plumbing services.

15 Mile Trip Charge: $49.50

Added automatically to every job within a 15-mile radius of downtown Charlotte, covers travel to the home and assessment of work needed with a preliminary estimate. Does not include after hours, or estimates where we need to remove sheetrock or other obstructions.

20 Mile Trip Charge: $100

Added automatically to every job within a 20-mile radius but outside the normal 15-mile radius of downtown Charlotte, covers travel to the home and assessment of work needed with a preliminary estimate. Does not include after hours or estimates where we need to remove sheetrock or other obstructions. Areas PAST Belmont, Huntersville, Harrisburg, Indian Trail, Pineville, Ballantyne may be part of this area.

Estimate: Included with Trip Charge

No salesman are employed by Rapid-Rooter Plumbing your custom estimate will be done by an experienced Technician who is able to perform the service either at the time of the estimate or at a later date as required. Each estimate is particular to your home’s characteristics and configuration of the work needed. No upselling or high-pressure sales are required of our tech’s, as with other companies, our prices are highly competitive in the industry.

After Hours Charge $100

Premium for emergency service is added per technician to any service after 5 o’clock pm or before 8:30 am or any holiday or weekend service. We encourage our clients to schedule all services within the normal work week whenever possible.

Plumbing: $149.50 per hour

Minimum one hour

Additional hours can be billed in half hour increments at $74.75 each as needed.

Drain Interior: $214.50

Minimum to clear any one drain that is within the home or business of 50 feet or less and is 2 inches or less in diameter. This covers the first hour with a professional drain cleaning machine suited for interior drains. Additional time due to improper drain configurations such a crosses or tees or the presences of hard foreign objects or excessive amounts of grease may require additional charges at the normal plumbing rate. If additional drains need to be run in order to unstop the original drain (such as in commercial or industrial buildings) they will be run at half price.

Additional drain 1/2 price if done at time of initial service. A second or third drain can be included at half of the regular price for that drain if the drain is within the same building or an adjacent building which does not require steps or the loading and unloading of the machine onto the vehicle. Additional charge after 1 hour.

Auger: $149.50

This is for an interior toilet clog that requires an extended auger with hand crank but does not require a motorized machine or removal of the toilet to dislodge the object or clog.

Exterior Drain Clear: $315.49

Minimum This is for a main sewer line 3 to 4 inch diameter that exits the home and can be accessed from an exterior clean out. This covers the use of the large drain cleaning machine for up to one hour and up to 100 foot. It does not cover heavy root infestations or repairs to broken lines which may incur additional charges at the standard plumbing rate after the first hour or a per foot charge after the first 100 feet. *Note – Most drains are cleared within the first 30 to 40 minutes and are within 50 foot of the home.

Remove & Reset of Toilet: $125

This is an additional charge when the main line is clogged an no exterior clean out is available from the outside of the home. The toilet must be removed and the large machine must be brought inside to clear the line from the exposed toilet flange. The tech will remove and reset the toilet with new bolts caps and wax ring. Any flange issues are a separate charge.

Camera Inspections: $299

Use of camera and locating tool to find issues inside problem pipes, such as root intrusions, foreign objects, crushed, broken or sections of pipe with improper fall. Includes first hour, recording of the issue on flash drive for your records and marking of area effected with marking paint and approximate depth of pipe. An estimate for excavation and repair or replacement is also included.

High Velocity Water Jetting: $725

Minimum for the first hour on sight, additional hours are $362.50 per hour if needed

This equipment is for clearing of 4 inch or larger diameter exterior drain lines, which have foreign objects, root infestations, large amounts of grease and debris. Usually used for restaurants, apartment complexes, strip malls and other commercial businesses and municipalities. This equipment may also be helpful for clogged downspouts and French drains although no guarantee can be given that it will be effective for these types of lines since they may not be plumbed in a way that is accessible.

Sewer or Water Line Repair: Starting at $1,200

For lines 3 foot deep or less which require the use of mechanical excavation. Does not include areas where the repair is obstructed by sidewalks, driveways, trees, utilities, irrigation lines or other obstacles. Does not include materials needed to make repair. Note – this is a starting price only, given as a guideline to our normal rates for excavation needed to repair old lines, an actual estimate for each application is necessary before we begin work.

Sewer or Water Line Replacement: Starting at $1,800

For line 3 foot deep or less and that is less than 50 feet in length and is not obstructed by obstacles such as sidewalks, driveways, trees, utilities, irrigation or other obstacles and includes permit and inspection, materials are additional as needed to adhere to current code guidelines. Note – this is a starting price only, given as a guideline to our normal rates for excavation needed to install new lines, an actual estimate for each application is necessary before we begin work.

Repair or Replacement of deeper or obstructed lines require larger and more extensive equipment and a wider footprint when excavating. It is necessary to schedule a camera/locate/in person estimate to assess the actual issue and get a custom estimate for your individual needs.
